Launch of Cumbria Union Negotiating Committee for Academies

Natalie Ruane of Just People (HR) has established a joint negotiating committee for academies in Cumbria, to engage, consult and negotiate with trade union officials.  Meetings will run every half term.  Part one of the meeting will be an open forum for discussions between academy leaders and union officials, following a pre-set agenda.  Part two of the meeting will allow individual academies to have a private meeting with unions to discuss specific issues such as policy changes, TUPE transfers, change management programmes etc.  For more details contact natalie@justpeoplehr.com.  These meetings are essential in order for academies to meet their legal obligations as employers recognising unions and will provide a solid platform for improving engagement across the County.
